The product is a vintage 1960’s original Japanese woodblock print by artist Kiyoshi Saito, depicting “Maiko Kyoto in Black” and also known by “Maiko Kyoto 1.”
The print is made of paper and is a unique piece of ukiyo-e artwork originating from Japan. The print is marked with a red stamp and it is signed in pencil by Saito adding authenticity to this beautiful and culturally significant piece.
The wood block print also comes with a newspaper article from a Japanese newspaper dated 1967. We purchased this wood block print from the estate of a wealthy art patron. I highly suspect they were present for Saito’s showing mentioned in the newspaper article and purchased this block print while there.
The print itself is in excellent vintage condition. The frame has a couple blemishes present. Please see images for complete description and condition. Also feel free to message us with any questions or additional images prior to ordering. We want you to be happy upon delivery. Thank you.
