For your consideration is this outstanding walnut cased Westinghouse tube radio, model 555, manufactured in 1939\40.The distinctive cabinet is made from walnut veneers – very pretty. The condition of the wooden cabinet is 9 out of 10. The cabinet is very solid and has it’s original finish. This is a working radio ready to play, display and enjoy – the sound is clear and crisp with no hum. The AM band comes in loud and clear and picks up many stations. As with all my radios it is electrically sound - the tubes are strong and all of the capacitors under the chassis have been replaced.

The radio features: stylized cabinet with a rounded inset dial; a working dial light with airplane dial pointer; a good-sized speaker; original bakelite knobs; original back and a very stylized 5 louvre grill with excellent original grill cloth; the cord has been changed and updated.

The measurements are: 1” across ” high and 6.5” deep. This radio will continue to give years of good service

Why buy a radio from rosscd57?

Every vintage tube radio I sell has been thoroughly serviced - tubes tested, components checked and then the unit is lubricated and cleaned inside and out. The work performed can be seen in the pictures of the chassis and/or found in the radio description.
