Ray Stanford Strong.  West Coast Artist.  Humpal, Mark.  Norman, OK: University of Oklahoma Press, 2017. Strong (1905-2006) was very popular, especially for his landscapes of California and Oregon, in plein air style.  The book traces his artistic history from an Oregon farm to formative years in California and New York.  He produced important works for the WPA during the New Deal era, projects for two world expositions and much more. The book contains more than 100 handsome photographic illustrations, in both color and black and white.  Large, thick hardcover, with original jacket, 381 pages including an index.  Very good plus condition.
