The 80th Anniversary of the de Havilland Canada DHC-1 Chipmunk ("Chippie") was celebrated at Wolverhampton Halfpenny Green Airport (Bobbington, Stourbridge). The event, held in May, drew a massive gathering of nearly 75 classic aircraft—marking it as one of the largest assemblies of Chipmunks ever recorded. The iconic tandem trainer was first flown on May 22, 1946, and this year's meet brought together vintage aircraft, formation training, and commemorative flypasts.
