The Lily of the Valley Egg is a specific design within the Joan Rivers Imperial Treasures II collection, inspired by the original 1898 Imperial Fabergé egg gifted by Tsar Nicholas II to his wife.
Design & Special Features
Surprise Detail:
Unlike the Portrait Egg which holds photos, this version often includes a magnifying optical cabochon housed under the imperial crown finial. Looking through it reveals a secret message in Russian Cyrillic: “Пусть будет благословлен этот дом и все в нем живущие,” which translates to "Bless this home and all the occupants within".
Aesthetics:
The egg features a coral or pink enamel shell adorned with raised green foliage and "flowers" made of simulated pearls and Swarovski crystals.
Symbolism:
In the original Fabergé context, the lilies of the valley represented the Empress's favorite flowers and symbolized purity and happiness
Egg is missing one sm seed pearl and finial cabochon
