Rare Shell Oil / Petroleum advertising billboard poster.
This is made up of 12 individual posters and when pieced together measures approx 20ft x 10ft.
This advertisment was used during the 1950's for Shells 'Discover Unknown Britain' campaign.
This features the slogan " Explore Melbourne in rural Derbyshire' with a picture of a couple driving a classic Jaguar XK120.
The slogan along the bottom reads "Discover unknown Britain. Free maps with Shell petrol".
It has survived extremely well over the years but does have some creasing here and there at the edges. ** PLEASE NOTE THERE IS A TEAR OF ABOUT 2CM TO ONE OFF THE POSTERS - SEE PICS**
I have listed the poster as used but it has never been mounted - just been in storage a very long time.
Ideal for the classic car collector if you have the room to display this but ideally this needs to be in museum somewhere and put on display.
