Description
Set of 4 DSW side chairs designed by Charles Eames and made by Herman Miller in the late 50s/early 60s in Parchment, Navy Blue, lemon and Light Ochre. Original fibreglass shells mounted on shockmounts with dowel bases.
The contemporary version of this chair (manufactured by Vitra) is made of polypropylene, which in our opinion, is not a patch on these original fibreglass models, which age beautifully.
These are grade B seconds with slight flaws to the shells so that they don't meet the grade of the high standard chairs we sell. Nonetheless, they are perfectly useable and sound and are priced accordingly.
Please see photos for specific details as to condition. Specifically:
Parchment: some slghtly deeper scracthes on the front of seat
Navy Blue: a small crack in side
Light Olive: a crack on side of seat
Lemon: some fading to seat and crazing to the sides (cosmetic stress lines).
Parchment: Small scratches to seat.
A stunning set of chairs - a totally classic, very collectable set.
