The Adafruit Circuit Playground is an all-in-one board that has sensors and LEDs. It offers an excellent introduction to programming real hardware without having to have soldering skills.

The Circuit Playground has an ATmega32u4 microcontroller and has contact areas suitable for use with alligator clips. The board can be operated either via USB or via a rechargeable battery (e.g. LiPo).

• ATmega32u4 microcontroller, operated at 3.3 V and 8 MHz.
• MicroUSB port for programming and debugging with the Arduino IDE.
• The USB port can be used as a serial interface, keyboard, mouse, joystick or MIDI.

The built-in microcontroller has an integrated USB controller, ie the board can be connected directly to a computer and programmed. All you need is a Micro-B Data / Sync USB cable, which is not included in the scope of delivery. The support for the board within the Arduino IDE is set up within a few seconds.
