Merrell Work’s Fullbench CT for men and women is a lightweight, flexible safety toe sneaker geared toward light duty jobs. It is an ideal shoe for warehousing, delivery or service jobs, labs, and office environments that require safety toe protection. The Fullbench CT is really a step-down from Merrell Work’s meatier Moab 2 Mid Vent shoe. It is less bulky and made with lighter (yet still durable) materials. The mesh and 3D print upper encases the foot with a non-metallic cord and toggle lacing system. The lacing system makes it easy to get on and off quickly, and keeps the Fullbench securely on the foot. A breathable mesh lining on the inside of the upper helps the foot breathe, and the bellows tongue keeps debris from getting into the shoe. The composite, non-metallic safety toe cap also contributes to the Fullbench CT’s lightness. Merrell Work threw in a few ingredients to keep the shoe flexible and stable, despite the shoe’s low weight. The Fullbench CT has a molded nylon arch shank for midfoot support and that flexibility we need when bending down or crawling. Merrell also put its trademark air cushion on the heel so shock is absorbed and stability is added. That air cushion makes the sneaker more comfortable, which is augmented by Merrell’s KINETIC FIT blended EVA countered footbed. This particular footbed has specific support in the arch and the heel to make the shoe more comfortable right up against your sole. An overall good light duty sneaker when you need safety toe protection without the bulk and weight of a typical work boot.
