An authentic original antique map of Massachusetts, engraved for Joseph Scott's "The United States Gazetteer", published in Philadelphia in 1795 — one of the earliest and most important American-published state atlas series. Confirmed by pencil notation on verso citing Wheat & Brun ("Maps and Charts Published in America Before 1800"), the standard scholarly catalogue of pre-1800 American cartography. The longitude reference "Lon. E. from Philad°" (east from Philadelphia meridian) confirms its Philadelphia origin.
