I purchased these lighting stands with my Bowens Quadmatic equipment
back in the 80’s, but cannot remember the brand for certain for the life of me. I believe they were Bowens.
Whilst they are not quite as heavy duty as a Manfrotto 008
or similar, they are significantly more sturdy than the stands that tend to
come with most lighting kits these days, meaning they are able to be used with
heavy fixtures and lightweight lighting booms etc.
They represent a great balance between weight, sturdiness
and portability when compared with the much heavier stands available. Being that bit bigger, they also are much
less likely to be knocked over than the small stands that come with lighting
kits.
Having a universal spigot, they are compatible with all
brands of lighting. Bowens, Elinchrom, Profoto,
Godox, Broncolor etc.
As well as accepting flash heads and lighting fixtures
directly, it can also be used with a whole range of other accessories,
including booms etc since they are strong.
They are air damped, in case you accidentally drop them whilst using, in order to protect your equipment a little
.
These stands have permanently attached integrated castors to
the feet which make them super convenient for rolling around the studio.
These are extremely well-built stands, designed to last
forever. As stated, we used these in our studio for years, both as light
stands, and heave background support stands
The photos show the stands fitted with lights, and other accessories, these are not included
in the sale, they are shown for illustration only, you will be buying the stand
fitted with it’s casters only.
