Born in the Netherlands, Herman Moll (1654-1732) moved to London around 1678, where he established himself as a leading engraver, cartographer, and publisher. His maps reflect the age of exploration and imperial rivalry, combining geographical accuracy with decorative appeal. Moll’s atlases and sea charts became essential references in the late 17th and early 18th centuries.
