Very handsomely bound by Morrell of London in three quarter dark green morocco over light green cloth. Gilt title with five raised bands to spine; gilt animal figures to spine panels. Gilt top-edge. Just a hint of sunning to spine. Beautifully marbled endpapers. A very clean and cherished edition. Very Good Plus.

The gorgeously bound book is a fascimile reproduction of a naturalist's diary for the year 1906. Edith Holden of Warwickshire recorded in words and painting the flora and fauna of the British countryside through the changing seasons of the year.
