Up for sale is a rare, vintage Tape Products Research (TPR) Model 2056 Verifiable Audio Recording System. This unique piece of Australian-made technology is built directly into a heavy-duty briefcase and was traditionally used by law enforcement and government agencies for secure, verifiable interview recordings.
The system features three integrated cassette tape decks (Deck 1, Deck 2, and Deck 3) allowing for simultaneous or sequential recording, a dedicated wired remote control module with an LCD screen, and built-in instructions inside the lid.
Condition Report
The unit powers on successfully as shown in the images. The LCD screen illuminates clearly and displays the message “TPR PORTABLE **CONTACT TPR **”. Please note that the wired remote displays “TIME ERROR 1”. Additionally, the physical buttons on the remote feel stiff/unresponsive and do not currently operate the tape decks. No further testing has been conducted, and it is being sold strictly as-is for parts, restoration, or prop use. Please review all photos for a closer look at the physical condition.
