Fantastic Groundies barefoot winter boots in black suede leather with striking, cool black and orange laces and wonderful soft velveteen lining.
Size 40 (UK 7) but I'd say more like a UK 6-6.5 in the world of barefoot footwear.
For me, these Groundies run a little small. I wear a 40 in all other barefoot shoes (Vivo/Be Lenka etc) and these are just about the right size with no socks at all but overall too snug with socks for the real barefoot boot experience.
Sole is just shy of 11 inches at longest point and just over 4 inches across at widest point.
New but without box. Only been tried on and worn around the house before being abandoned in the bottom of the wardrobe. Never worn outside. As usual, suede looks imperfect even straight out of the box, but of course that's part of its charm. Small mark on left shoe below last lace on left side (outside of the shoe) which was present from purchase. Might be a touch of glue or something from production.
Overall, these boots seem extremely well-made and durable with the eyelets seeming very sturdy as well as attractive and practical - easy to lace up and loosen. The soles look durable and long-lasting and, although I've not worn them outside, seem a lot more slip-resistant than Vivos!!!
A highlight of these Groundies is the divine ultra-soft and velvety black lining which fully coats the interior of the boots, making them well-suited to see out this English winter.
Overall, a stylish ankle boot.
