One (1) antique to vintage African hand wrought iron ceremonial axe.  From the Kirdi or Matakam peoples of Nigeria and Cameroon.  This type of axe was carried by women while dancing during harvest celebrations (see picture #23).  50-100 years old, possibly older.  Fair condition- wear throughout.  Measures 16 1/2 inches long, 6 7/8 inches wide and 3/4 inches at thickest point.  Weighs 9.9 ounces.  See my other African and ethnographic items.  Shipping will be by USPS Ground Advantage-$8.83 including insurance.  Will combine shipping on multiple purchases and refund buyer any excess shipping charges.
