A lovely 1972 VW Bay Window Camper (T2) with just 53,000 miles showing and in good condition throughout. One of the rarer crossover models.

The van has been owned by me for the past 15 years. When I purchased it, it underwent a comprehensive body and interior restoration, and I have a huge file of photographs and invoices documenting the work carried out over the years – far too much to list in an advert.

Finished in its original VW two-tone colour scheme and sitting on a mid-lowered suspension setup, it attracts attention wherever it goes.

The interior is well finished and fully equipped for camping, including:

In the interest of complete honesty, the engine is the original and, while running well, is showing its age. I recently completed over 100 miles during the Bank Holiday weekend, including cruising along the A303 at 50–55mph without issue.

It starts, runs and drives as it should, with no breakdowns or major concerns. It uses a tiny amount of oil and is likely producing slightly less power than when it left the factory over 50 years ago, but remains perfectly usable and enjoyable. A future rebuild or engine upgrade is something the next owner may wish to consider, but it certainly isn't essential to enjoy the van today.
