Description

Scarce and highly collectible large original first printing James Gang promotional poster issued by Probe Records in Japan in 1972 to promote the release of the Passin' Thru album – their fifth studio album, produced by the band themselves, and originally released in October 1972 on ABC Records in the US and Probe Records in the UK. Probe Records was a sub-label of ABC Records. It was started in 1968 as their label for psychedelic rock and progressive rock, but was deactivated in 1970. Between 1970 and 1974, the label was also used for international distribution of material made by ABC and its Dunhill Records subsidiary. Passin' Thru was the last James Gang album with guitarist Domenic Troiano, who was replaced by Tommy Bolin. It was also their final album released on ABC Records, moving to Atco Records the following year. The album was a modest success and peaked at #72 on Billboard 200. James Gang toured Japan during September 1972. The poster was for promotional purposes only, and was never made commercially available.

The poster measures 59.7 x 81.0 cm (approx. 23.5″ by 31.9″ inches) and is beautifully printed on thin, coated paper stock. In near excellent unfolded condition, ready to frame. Guaranteed 100% original. Please see all supersized images below for the exact condition of the poster. Feel free to email us with any questions you may have regarding this item. Thank you.
