This is a wonderful antique darning or mending sampler, showing various very delicately stitched and very decorative darning techniques.

It is stitched on linen cloth with multi colored silk thread.

The sampler is Dutch and dated 1763.

It measures approximately 19 x 18 3/4 inch or 48 x 47.5 cm.

The needlework is in good condition, considering the age of the sampler. The cloth has some spots on it.

The sampler was framed for a certain period of time. The cloth shows folds, some dirt and small holes from nails around the edges. Please see photos.
