Very Rare Charles Schneider – Le Verre Francais Art-Deco “Garances” Cameo Glass Compote
France Circa 1924 – 1927
Out for bidding is a magnificent piece of French art-glass created by the firm of Charles Schneider for the Le Verre Francais trade line. A rare and highly decorative Art-Deco cameo glass compote exquisitely decorated with the “Garances” pattern. The “Garances” décor was introduced circa 1924 - 1927. It is a very pleasing design not very seldom available for sale. The cameo-cut glass compote in gray glass streaked with violet, raspberry and pale blue, is overlaid in mottled raspberry and burgundy and finely acid cut with a pattern of stylized flowers and pendant tendrils of berries. Truly a beautiful piece of art glass depicting a rare pattern with a lustrous finish.
