ANTIQUE STERLING MINIATURE ELK BOPE LODGE LOCKET CARD BILL HOLDER - HELLO BILL
This Antique Sterling Silver BPOE Elks Lodge Money Card Holder Locket Pendant with the 10K Gold Elks Head has no makers marks but is marked Sterling Patented on the inside rim.
It is 2” long not including the pinch clasp or the loop ring at the other end, by 7/8” wide by 1/8” deep when closed, and it weighs approximately 15.3 grams by my scale.
When opened the HELLO and the BILL do not lift up but there is space for a folded bill or note could slide underneath, and in the center edge near the hinge on each side is the number 65 is stamped.
The story goes this HELLO BILL became a common greeting at the Elks gatherings around the late 1800’s after William Goddard of Minneapolis Lodge No. 44.
