Vintage Crane Brand "Perfect Pinker" (Model 1000) Rotary Pinking Shear Sewing Tool, complete with original box. Collectible 1930s–1950s sewing tool made by Metropolitan Cutlery Co. (also marked as a Florian product). Very good vintage condition. No rust. Box has typical wear and repairs. Please see photos!
Function: This tool uses a gear-driven rotary mechanism rather than traditional scissor blades to cut a continuous zig-zag edge on fabric to prevent fraying.
Design: It is a heavy-duty, cast-metal tool featuring a black handle and a chrome-plated mechanism designed for smooth operation and a less fatiguing alternative to traditional pinking shears. Fabric feeds automatically between the toothed wheel and pinking blade.
History: Developed by the Metropolitan Cutlery Company as a "Florian Product," this specific model dates back to a 1939 patent.
Weight & Dimensions: Approximately 7 inches long × 3 inches wide × 1 inch thick. Weight: Hefty for its size — it's a solid, heavy-duty metal tool (steel components with black enamel handle) at ~12 ounces.
