The painting is after the original painting by a Dutch master Balthasar van der Ast in the early 17th century. The realism is lovely with the flowers bugs and shadows of same . It is on board the board size is 24”x12” and although the frame is nice would look better in a wave molding black frame of the period . I dont know of the artist the name keeps popping up someone probably in the 1980s doing reproductions of master paintings.

The varnish has small bits of particulate matter encased within. Overall a wonderful looking painting of a Dutch master
