This vintage Disston & Sons saw set tool comes from my father's tool collection, and most likely dates from before 1940. It is in good working order.  There is an image of it in Disston's 1932 catalog that matches it.  It came in two sizes - this is the smaller No. 2 version of the Monarch, which is 6-1/4 inches long.  The inscription on the inner surface of one handle is "MONARCH"; on the other handle is "DISSTON & SONS USA".
