Worked & Signed By Mary Burton taught by Mrs Pilgrim in Spalding in February 1777

Worked in green & cream silk threads on a linen ground

The sampler depicts the alphabet letters at the top of the sampler

The centre has a religious verse plus the details of Mary Burton and get teacher Mrs Pilgrim in 1777

The antique sampler is housed in a period gilded frame

Gorgeous leaf and floral scrolls surround the central verse

Dimensions -Frame - 28.2cm x 26.2cm, Sampler - 20cm x 18.5cm

Good Condition - Overall condition is good for its age. There is some gentle, discolouration to the linen ground, consistent with its 18th century date but no losses or holes
