Original Saudi Arabian Kuwait Liberation Medal – 1991 Gulf War

Authentic Saudi Arabian “Liberation of Kuwait” medal awarded in connection with the liberation of Kuwait during the 1991 Gulf War / Operation Desert Storm.

This decoration was issued to members of the international coalition forces who participated in military operations following the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait.

The medal features:

  • multi-rayed silver-tone star;
  • central gilt medallion;
  • map of Kuwait;
  • palm tree and crossed swords emblem;
  • bilingual inscriptions in English and Arabic:
    LIBERATION OF KUWAIT.

Historical Background

Following Iraq’s invasion of Kuwait in 1990, a large international coalition launched military operations to liberate Kuwait in early 1991.
