The SG Standard '61 returns to a classic design that has created, played, and been loved across generations and musical genres. And now, it's available in eye-catching custom colors.
In 1961, the Les Paul model ceased production, and a completely new design evolved into the model known today as the SG or Solid Guitar. The Gibson SG Standard '61 follows the original style, featuring a slim taper mahogany neck and bound rosewood fingerboard.
The mahogany body features a deeply carved body scarf, a 5-ply teardrop pickguard, and a 22-fret neck joint. Nickel-plated hardware includes a classic-style Tune-O-Matic bridge and Keystone tuners.
The pickups are 60s Burstbucker humbuckers, delivering a classic tone that blends power and top-end. The controls utilize audio taper potentiometers and OrangeDrop capacitors.
A hardshell case is included.
