An amazing pair of original mid century modernist sterling silver and faceted onyx cufflinks circa 1970.

These one of a kind cufflinks are an eye catching pair. Perhaps the designer was thinking of a sunset on another planet when they made these? Who knows but what I can say is the design is super cool. The onyx itself is a unique fancy cut and has a high mirror like polish which catches the light. These gems sit in the middle of the warmth of a modernist gold plated solid sterling silver setting. They have a luxurious but casual elegance about them. The words sleek....COOL...and funky...definitely come to mind.

On the cufflink fittings themselves they are marked "STERLING".

The face of the cufflinks measures 1 1/16" wide by 13/16" tall (27mm x 20mm).

In good vintage condition as shown and are ready to gift or to wear.
