• Hand: The fabric print is more vivid on one side.  The Hand is stiff but was stiffer, I have washed it once. When wash it softens.

• About Mapeto Whitex Fabric (Malawi) is a cotton African wax‑print textile produced by Mapeto/David Whitehead & Sons, a long‑established Malawian textile mill. established in 1967 as a subsidiary of Lonrho Malawi through 2000s.
• About Ankara (also known as African wax print or Dutch wax print). : Ankara is a vibrant cotton fabric decorated with bold, repeating patterns and bright colors, traditionally made using wax-resist or industrial roller printing techniques  While it originated from Indonesian batik designs introduced by Dutch traders in the 19th century, it was adopted and redefined across West and Central Africa, where it became a symbol of cultural identity, status, and celebration. When new, Ankara can feel stiff because of the printing process and the cotton weave. Over time, washing and wear soften it, but in its fresh state it retains a firm texture. It’s widely used for dresses, shirts, headwraps, and accessories, and is especially popular for weddings, festivals, and other cultural events
