Quantity: Due to the natural variation of shell, individual orders may have different numbers of blanks, but will add up to the weight specified on purchase. On average, a 1 ounce order will fall into the range listed below. The average blank size of an order determines the number of pieces in an order, with larger blanks on average reducing the number of blanks in an order.

White mother of pearl is an incredibly robust material.  Our white mother-of-pearl blanks are flawless, without bug holes, crack lines or bark. Mother of pearl (also called nacre) is a white shell material whose grain features a stunning, 3D, iridescent quality that transforms with the angle of the light often reflecting rainbow like tones.

We hand select our shells to ensure the quality of our shell blanks. Our precision cutting process produces completely flat blanks at a consistent thickness, making them ideal for your inlay designs. Mother of pearl inlay material can be cut, with extreme care, using a fine jeweler's saw.
