A set of four documents relating to: 'four pieces of land called "Harts Rank" - containing together twenty four acres one rood and three perches situate at Westhay in the Parish of Meare in the County of Somerset.' One of the parties involved was a candle manufacturer of Hill Farm Butleigh Glastonbury. Details of the document are as follows:
- The earliest is dated 11th August 1924 and is an 'Assent to Devise' (transfer legal ownership of property from the estate of someone who has died). This consists of a four page booklet with one full typed page.
- Two are dated 10th November 1924 and are Indenture documents relating to the land. These are the same document with a different name on the title pages. They consist of a four page booklet with two typed pages.
- The fourth document is dated 2nd November 1926 and is titled: 'Assignment of one fourth part of the proceeds of sale of and in certain property called Harts Rank situate in the Parish of Meare in the County of Somserst.' This consists of a group of four pages. There is a schedule outlining the land on the tithe map for the Parish.
They have some wear and age related marks. There are a few annotations in pencil on the pages. There are bends from previously being folded.
