Selection of vintage engineering draughtsman’s slide rules, adjustable set square and accessories
Comprises:
- One 10” slide rule (A W Faber)) with green case and instruction leaftlet. Is wooden and plastic and has slider (also reversible). All are in used but good condition, although the leaflet is nother aged, well-used and yellowed).
- One 10” slide, similar to the above, but with case of user leaflet. This rule has a slight glass crack on the slier, although is in good working order - is also reversible. Is generally in good condition for its age.
- One 6” slide rule, described as the unique log log slide rule. In terms of materials of construction is similar to the above, but is without any case.Is generall in good condition for its age.
- One approx. 5” slide rule, (SKF-BEHR) with leather case. Is brushed aluminium in construction, and is complete with its slide.
- Three plastic cases, different sizes, containing a selection on engineering draughtsnan lead - each at least 75% full.
- Engineering draughtsman’s adjustable ’True Angle' set square - steel adjustment slide with perspex upper and low straight and angled sections.Manufactured by Blundell - No R273. Is again in well-used but is otherwise in good working condition.
- Selection of other miscellaneous draughtsman drawing board aids (board ar, scribe and other attachment.
All items have previously belong to an engineering draughtsman-designer, who work for a large prestigious precision engineering compny, from the late 1940’s until late 1970’s. All items have been well used over the decades and thus will show normal well-used wear, but in all cases, all remain in good working order, ranging good to very good for their respective ages.
All are ideal for the avid collector of past engineering tools - those that will have been used by precision engineers and or draughtsmen from the last century. This is much history and many precision components that will have come to life and been part of an engine, power system or complex structure thanks ti the many engineers that spent their hour on the board and with pencils, scribes and set squares, dividers and rulers.
