This plant biochar is an organic amendment with a high exchange capacity (CEC). Vegetable charcoal is extremely porous and has an enormous specific surface area (around 320 m²/g). Charcoal is capable of absorbing up to five times its own weight in water as well as the nutrients found there. It thus plays the role of catalyst and amplifier for traditional fertilizers, whether of organic or mineral origin. This is why it is ideal for activating soil and for oxygenated compost teas.

Plant charcoal improves the diffusion and availability of nutrients in the soil and provides conditions conducive to the development of microorganisms.

  • Vegetable charcoal 31%
  • Organic matter 33%
  • Dry matter 75%
  • C/N: 17
  • pH: 7.2
  • Nitrogen (N): 2.1% including 1.2% organic nitrogen
  • Phosphorus (P205): 0.74%
  • Potassium (K20): 1.18%
  • Calcium (Ca): 6.8%

Dosage and intake conditions:

  • Spreading then superficial burial (5cm).
  • Vegetable garden dose: 500g to 1 kg/m².
  • Arboriculture: 500g/m²
  • Mixture: 500g/10 liters of soil or compost.
  • Compost tea dose: 50g/10 liters.
  • Biochar can be introduced into a wide variety of soils. It is particularly effective in poor, difficult and acidic soils.
  • Recommendation for use: do not ingest. Wash and dry your hands after use.

To make its amending capacity act quickly and effectively, vegetable charcoal is enriched and biologically activated with micro-organisms.

Biochar thus behaves as a structurator and an activator with the aim of enhancing the soil.
