Rare matching pair of Italian mid century modern art glass vases, candles, sculptures.
Each stands over 22" high and the top and bottom measuring over 8" wide.
Absolutely gorgeous in a very light aqua blue with tiny bubbles throughout.
The red (maroon) bands are without bubbles.
Apparently these sculptures can sit on the flat end or the ruffled end.
When I bought these they both had the old remnants of felt pads on the flat fluted ends, appearing to be huge candles or shallow vases but it is plain when you begin playing with them that the tall fluted ends can just as well be on top with the ruffled ends on the bottom.
As a result of these glass sculptures sitting on their flat fluted ends for years, each flat red band has 8 tiny shallow nicks to each vase.
Last photo shows a couple of those tiny, shallow nicks. Sorry for the blurry photo but those tiny nicks are on either side of my finger.
Those tiny shallow nicks are the only flaws on both. Otherwise there are no chips, no cracks, no scratches, no repair, etc.
Not sure exactly who made these but certainly Italian, Murano and most likely Seguso. I just sold a Murano lamp in nearly exactly this unusual light aqua blue.
Completely hand blown circa 1950s, 1960s.
Each vase weighs about 8 pounds.
How many 22" Murano glass vases have you seen? Super rare. Super spectacular.
Price is for the pair.
