This ATSF Bay Window Caboose is almost like new.

It looks like it was used only briefly. It's ABS plastic body looks new.

But note that the wiring got hot and softened the wire insulation. It's still soft and pliable, but not just like new.

 

What I found was that it had the wrong bulbs in it. Lower voltage, higher amps and brighter than it was designed for.

Either a factory error, or perhaps the owner wanted more light for some reason.

I installed the correct bulbs and all is now ok.
