RARE Transitional Dell AT102 Vintage Mechanical Keyboard - Restored Salmon ALPS SKCM - GYIAT101-102
Item Description:
Up for auction is a highly sought-after, fully restored vintage Dell AT102 mechanical keyboard.
This is a rare "Transitional Model" anomaly: it features the newer Dell logo (slanted "E"), but unlike the later rubber-dome or Silitek-made boards, this unit still houses the original, highly coveted Alps Electric manufacturing chassis and SKCM Salmon switches. It was proudly manufactured in Dell’s original Limerick, Ireland facility.
This board is not just another dusty attic find—it has been meticulously torn down, cleaned, and tested so it is fully functional and ready for a modern desk or custom build.
This keyboard has been fully restored and is listed as Seller Refurbished.
Switch Internals Cleaned: Every single switch housing was opened, and the internals were carefully cleaned to remove decades of dust and friction.
Zero Key Chatter: The switches feel excellent—highly tactile with zero binding, dead keys, or the double-typing "chatter" common in unrestored Alps boards.
Cleaned Internals: The PCB has been thoroughly cleaned. Please note that while the steel switch plate has also been completely cleaned and sanitized, it does show some slight surface pitting. This is standard patina for a vintage steel plate of this age and does not affect the typing feel or structural integrity (see bare-board photos).
The item is slightly more yellowed than the photos suggest. I have not used any treatment to reduce yellowing, just soap and water.
Switches: Genuine Alps SKCM Salmon (Tactile).
Keycaps: Original, thick dye-sublimated PBT. They have a fantastic, heavy texture with zero finger-shine or UV yellowing. (Note: The spacebar is standard OEM ABS, which is entirely factory-correct for this era).
Layout: Classic UK ISO Winkeyless (WKL) layout.
FCC ID: GYIAT101-102.
Origin: Made in Ireland.
Connection: This is a vintage PS/2 keyboard. To use it on a modern PC or Mac, you will need an active PS/2 to USB converter (simple, cheap passive adapters often do not provide enough power for these older boards).
Photos: Please review all high-resolution photos carefully, as they serve as part of the description. You can verify the pristine condition of the PCB, the switch internals, the keycap texture, and the plate.
Worldwide shipping is available! The board will be heavily bubble-wrapped and securely boxed to ensure it survives international transit safely.
