Two (2) Original Hand Colored Etchings: Ernst Geissendorfer Rothenburg Signed Framed
This set includes two of Ernst Geissendorfer's hand colored print etchings, both framed and matted nicely. Each etching is matted in a green mat and gold pebbled frame. They each measure 18" tall x 15.5" wide with the art shown in portrait configuration.
The etchings themselves measure approximately 11" tall x 9" wide not inclusive of the signature annotations in the margins. One of them is slightly smaller. Both of the two etchings have the name: "Kobolzeller Gate". The first shows a close-up of two archways while the second may illustrate the a long view from a distance having a hill that leads up to the entrance of the gate.
Rothenburg is one of Germany's picturesque places in Bavaria on the Tauber River where the Medieval towers and walls still stand. These etchings were both produced in the 1950's to 1960s.
*Very good framed signed etchings. There may be some minor flaws as these are more than 50 years old.
