Vintage Japan Tinplate Bell 47 US Police Helicopter With Friction Motor PD-107

Unbranded - simply “MADE IN JAPAN” - however it is almost identical to the 1960s Cragstan and Ichimura versions, but with a different lithographed design, a smaller, more compact friction motor and a cockpit bubble without and tinplate surrounds on the sides.

This example is silver and black with POLICE markings and PD-107 on the sides. The fuel tank and main rotor blades are white and black. The tail rotor is more ornamental than functional and is thin yellow plastic. The clear plastic cockpit bubble is intact. The interior of the cockpit is gold with a tinplate pilot in black, yellow and white. The triple-blade main rotor is removable and the rotors hinge at the rotor hub. Two rubber wheels drive the proctor on motor and there is a single tail wheel to balance the model.
