A beautiful example of an antique mouth-blown medicinal elixir bottle
in a beautiful amber color with
a tooled "prescription" finish/lip .
The bottle is huge (11 1/2 inches tall) for an elixir/syrup bottle and would probably
hold close to a half gallon. There is a cork
in the lip that has aged in place.
There are no markings on the glass so it is not possible to
identify the glass manufacturer – but most likely a glass manufacturer from
Ohio and/or the Cincinnati area.
The condition of the bottle is excellent with some very nice
bubbles in the glass and minor crudeness befitting a mouth-blown bottle. There
are no cracks, chips, flea-bites, etc.
The label is in very good antique condition with wear you would expect
for the age. A portion of the upper
right and lower right of the label is missing, but it does not detract nor does
it involve anything that is written.
This bottle is circa 1907-1912.
Size: 11 ½ inches tall x 4
½ inches. Weighs 3 pounds.
