Lutz Parallel Ruler

This is a vintage parallel black folding 12" ruler made by LUTZ. I believe it is for nautical navigation or drafting or engineering, etc. It is made of plastic with metal hinges. It has never been used but has been opened from a damaged box so it has very few marks. (Please see photos for exact condition!)  It has been stored recently in a smoke-free environment.
