This auction is for a reproduction aluminum Hood Ornament Insert or "emblem" for the 1961, 1962 and 1963 Rambler Americans (the original OEM "inserts" were plastic) .  Please Note: this auction listing is ONLY for the round black insert, it does NOT include the chrome hood ornament.  I have the ornament itself pictured so you can see what the insert looks like when it's actually put into the ornament. This emblem/insert is CNC machined from billet aluminum, reproduced to look like the original plastic inserts, including the raised "R" logo and the notch at the top, just like the originals.  

Again, this is machined from solid billet aluminum.  it's not just a vinyl decal.  it's not some thin stamped metal piece (It's nearly 3/16 inch thick!!!).  I hope the pictures give a good idea of what it looks like.  I included a picture of a 61-63 American with an original plastic insert in it's ornament as well as a picture of one missing it's insert/emblem). This insert is then mounted into the chrome hood ornament opening using a metal epoxy.
