A handsome vintage pendant featuring a reproduction of a 1622 Spanish Colonial 2 Reales coin, set in a 925 sterling silver bezel with a decorative fluted tassel bail.

The coin replicates one of the most historically evocative pieces of Spanish Colonial coinage — the 2 Reales of Philip IV, minted during the era of the great treasure fleets. The 1622 date is particularly significant: it was the year the ill-fated Nuestra Señora de Atocha galleon sank off the Florida Keys, carrying a fortune in silver reales that captivated treasure hunters for centuries.

Obverse: Jerusalem cross in quatrefoil surround, legend reading "HISPANIARVM REX 1622"
Reverse: Spanish Royal coat of arms (quartered shield), legend reading "PHILIPPVS IIII D G"

The coin is evenly struck and well-detailed. The bezel is a rope-edged circular frame in sterling silver (marked 925 inside the bail), with a multi-strand fluted tassel bail for hanging on a chain.

Please note: This is sold as a reproduction/replica coin pendant, not as genuine 17th century coinage. The coin itself is not authenticated as original. The bail is stamped 925 sterling silver. Coin was removed from mount (screw mount) and acid tested positive for silver.

Condition: Good vintage condition. The coin displays well with good detail. The bail shows some patina/toning at the joint consistent with age. No damage or breaks.
