Panasonic PT-DZ6700 WUXGA Video/Data Projector 

For sale- a Panasonic PT-DZ6700 WUXGA Video/Data Projector as pictured.  This is what I would consider a large venue projector, it has dual lamps for extra brightness.  I had initially assumed that it had a second lamp so that if one failed you could continue with your presentation, but the lamp hours are the same for both, 545, so either a total coincidence or they both run at the same time.  Overall hours on the projector 4378.

OK, listen up.  The projector is fitted with a Panasonic ET-DLE150 DLP Projection Zoom Lens.  The lens by itself looks to be worth $300 here on ebay.  I was expecting it to be a long throw lens but I found a website that says for a 100” diagonal screen the projector should be between 9’4” and 13’6” back.  Which sounds like a short throw to me.  I see some sellers calling it short throw but at least one calling it long throw.  I’m going to go with short throw, long throw would probably be more like 20+ feet throw distance so it could be at the back of an auditorium.  Please do your own homework regarding the lens installed as I don’t want to get it back because it won’t sit at the back of the room like you want it to.  UPDATE: I just tested another Panasonic projector with a standard lens.  This one is definitely a short throw.

The projector fires right up and is extremely bright.  The image it tries to project is quite large, again supporting the notion it is designed for short throw applications.  I don’t have a screen hung or a white wall to project it on so I put up a piece of sheetrock about five or six feet away and at that distance could only get a small corner of the picture even after adjusting the zoom some.  What I can see looks great but there is a lot that doesn’t fit onto the sheetrock scrap.  I connected an old laptop to the VGA input and that seemed to go OK too.

The projector was in a ceiling mount install at a NASA facility so it has not had small children fondling it.  The case is in very good condition although there are a few scuffs and one tiny ding that I am pointing out in the pictures.  I have what I think is the remote that goes with this, last picture, but I have another Panasonic projector that might instead be the one it belongs to.  So that may or may not be part of the deal until I sort that out.
