The Bielfelder breed originates in Germany, where it is highly prized. These birds are large, gentle, and cold hardy (we live in NH and they have done quite well). Hens lay an average of 200+ large, tan eggs per year. As you can see, we have been getting quite a bit of beautiful speckling! These photos are taken outdoors, no filters, and you can expect to receive a dozen that looks much like the one pictured here. This is a great dual purpose breed that is gentle, a consistent layer and will give you a 4lb+ finished weight carcass.
This flock is from the Greenfire Farms Crele import line. We have been having 80%+ hatch rate here on the farm. This breed is also AUTOSEXING!
