publisher's decorative boards backed in morocco; all edges gilt. Light rubbing
to the extremities including some moderate wear to the front joint of Volume I;
occasional marginalia and check marks in the margin, typically in pencil but
occasionally in ink (looks to be examples both early and modern).
An extensive
history of the region including more than 150 pages directly about the Civil
War. Profusely illustrated with in-text as well as engraved plates and
portraits—more than 100 of them, all present as called for. Additionally, two
hand-colored bifolium maps of the state. A stately and exhaustive history.
