The JL Audio LoC-22 is a fully active, two-channel speaker-level to line-output converter with automatic turn-on. It accepts up to 40V RMS per channel and outputs up to 8V RMS via RCA, allowing aftermarket amplifiers and signal processors to connect to a factory audio system.

Designed by JL Audio Senior Engineer Bruce Macmillan, the LoC-22 is an active two-channel processor built to attenuate factory audio signals for use with aftermarket amplifiers and signal processors.

It uses a fully regulated switching MOSFET power supply and an all-analog circuit design to deliver flat frequency response at any signal level (3 Hz – 32 kHz, +0, -1 dB), without the bass roll-off that affects many passive line output converters at high signal levels.

The differential-balanced input architecture rejects induced cable noise and is compatible with virtually any analogue audio signal. With an input capacity of up to 40V RMS per channel (equivalent to 400W at 4 ohms), it handles the most powerful factory amplifier outputs. An onboard dual-range input load switch ensures compatibility with factory amplifiers that use impedance sensing to mute channels.

A pair of RCA line-level output jacks (up to 8V RMS) feeds your aftermarket amplifier or signal processor. Output level setting is straightforward using the onboard LED clipping indicator, which works with test tones or music. The LoC-22 offers two automatic turn-on methods — DC-offset sensing or signal sensing — and provides a +12V remote output to activate downstream electronics such as a JL Audio MBT-RXv2 Bluetooth receiver.
