Felix the Cat is a cartoon character created in 1919 by Otto Messmer and Pat Sullivan during the silent film era. An anthropomorphic young black cat with white eyes, a black body, and a giant grin, he is often considered one of the most recognized cartoon characters in history. Felix was the first fully realized recurring animal character in the history of American film animation.

Felix originated from the studio of Australian cartoonist-film entrepreneur Pat Sullivan. Either Sullivan himself or his lead animator, American Otto Messmer, created the character. What is certain is that Felix emerged from Sullivan's studio, and cartoons featuring the character became well known in popular culture.

FELIX THE CAT

1920's

Plush, soft toy ...... felt like type material, with internal wire armature (he will still adjust, but i try not to move his limbs and tail too much now, as he's so very old).

A REAL ANTIQUE ALSO ....... 100 YEARS OLD

Felix measures a good size of around 37 cm, to his ear tips...... getting on towards almost 15 inches

Felix spends his life under a glass dome (DOME IS NOT INCLUDED) 

His original tail, designed to enable his stance

Hands in that so familiar pose

EVEN HIS TUMMY SQUEAKER STILL WORKS

Although he is now so old, he still looks in amazing shape for display; colours have kept really well

He's not moth eaten !

He has a jointed, swivel head 

A wonderful, complete toothy grin

His characterful,  pointed ears
