Chinese Calligraphy Brush

This is a vintage Chinese calligraphy brush, or fude in Japanese. The bamboo handle is decorated with engraved inscriptions and a sticker. It features a red-and-white tip.

Brushes are traditionally used for Japanese calligraphy (Shodo) and for practicing Japanese character handwriting (Shuji). They can also be used for traditional Nihonga paintings.

• Approx. 17.5 cm long x 0.8 cm wide (bristles approx. 2.3 cm long)
• Good condition considering its age. Used item. Ink stains on the hair. The bristles are hard/crispy and need cleaning. Some stains on handle. Wear and tear due to age. Please see the photos.
