antique hand hammered copper brazier with Brass Handles 17”.

For sale today is an amazing antique copper brazier.

This brass and copper brazier is and early form of portable space heater, and was intended to hold hot coals. This is an ancient design, dating back at least to Roman times, if not earlier. This particular example probably dates from the earlier part of the 20th century. This Particular piece was found at a local estate where the owner traveled extensively for years and years.. The brazier measures about 17 inches across, and the opening measures about 10 inches across. This piece is in very nice antique condition, with a wonderful patina. There is some verdegris to the Copper and I see one scratch and a very superficial dent or two.
