This is an Estate Fresh Native American Kachina from a local Estate home.  It is a SUPER COOL🔥 HOPI 9" CARVED BROADFACE WHIPPER or Wuyak-kuita KACHINA CARVED BY MASTERCARVER CLYDE HARRIS.🔥  This is a Cool One-of-a-Kind Original Kachina by Clyde Harris. This is a Hand Carved Original work of Art- a HOPI KACHINA DOLL BY CLYDE HARRIS.  BEAUTIFUL Hopi Kachina and a Mastercarver piece  Signed on the bottom of the base Clyde with his signature Pronghorn hoof print.   ***In absolute perfect and pristine condition*** Kachina is 9" tall.  The Broadface Whipper Kachina, or Wuyak-kuita, plays an important role in discipline and order during Hopi ceremonies, often guiding or correcting other Kachinas and dancers with his yucca whips. His bold appearance and actions are meant to teach respect, attentiveness, and adherence to tradition. Old-style Kachinas are traditionally made with a loop or string so they can be hung on a wall for display.   Clyde Harris, âeoeLomatuhksiâe, Eagle Down, was born into the Hopi Nation back in 1982, member of the Flute Deer clan. He was inspired to carve on wood by his Father, Gene Dawahoya. He would sit and watch his father carve his sculptures with great enthusiasm and admiration in hopes of achieving the same skills.  It appears from what he has sculpted, he is well on his way to achieve his goal.  Clyde began carving on wood at the age of 12, in 1994. He takes strolls along the Rio Grande River in search of decent sizes of cotton wood tree roots to carve on. He carves his sculptures with a regular pocket knife. Clyde uses acrylic paints to color his kachinas. The first piece he carved was a rattle kachina.  Clyde usually signs his sculptures as: Clyde Harris, Hopi, name of the Kachina, and followed by a set of hoof prints to denote his clan origin.  Clyde is related to the following artists: Gene Dawahoya (father), Nuvadi Dawahoya (uncle), Delwin Harvey (uncle), and Juanita Healing (grandmother), famous potter. This Kachina Doll is made of cottonwood root. It measures approximately 9" tall. Kachina is signed on the bottom of the base by the artist Clyde. Check the photos.
